Position Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist supports the hiring process and serves as a key resource for talent management, onboarding, new hire and employee orientation processes, employee engagement, recruitment activities, and compliance. The Human Resource Specialist maintains accurate employee records and HR systems, supports and administers employee engagement initiatives and programs.
The Human Resources Specialist also provides administrative and operational support for HR systems, surveys, vendors, bills and invoices, ensuring information and documentation are accurate, timely, and confidential. The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing responsive service to employees, candidates, and leadership. This position contributes to an effective employee experience by supporting compliance, improving HR processes and systems, strengthening employee engagement, and helping foster a healthy and high-performing workplace.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Proven experience with and/or working knowledge of the following is required: effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, developing and maintaining customer-oriented relationships with leadership and employees
- Business/office technology experience required including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible Human Resource experience. Or other relevant experience as evaluated by the AVP of HR.
- Associates degree required or be able to obtain certification within two years. Degree focus in Human Resources, Organizational Development or another related discipline preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, H.R. or Organizational Design/Development is strongly preferred.
- Professional certification as a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional/Senior Professional), or some equivalent certification in a related human resources field preferred or be able to obtain certification within 3 years.
