Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse is an Integral member of the multidisciplinary team.  The Registered Nurse/Graduate Nurse utilizes his/her knowledge, judgment and skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients under his/her supervision.  The Registered Nurse practice involves diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential problems, and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.  In addition it is a role of collaboration, coordination of services, and patient/family education.

 

The Graduate Nurse working with a limited permit must work directly under the supervision of a Registered Nurse so that consistent supervision is ensured per New York State Professional Licensing Law.  The permit holder, (GN) will be given 12 months from date of employment at Adirondack Health to obtain their licensure.  A permit expires one year from date of issuance or upon written notice by the Department that the application for licensing has been denied, or 10 days after written notification to the applicant of failure on the licensing exam-whichever occurs first.  Failing/passing applicants must inform the Nursing Office or Human Resource Office upon receiving their examination results.

Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
  2. Must possess current New York State license or current permit. 

Salary Range:

GN: $38.522 per hour

RN: $39.665 - $56.661 per hour
