Responsibilities (as per diem physician for Obstetrics and Gynecological Call Coverage):

1. Evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients in accordance with current standards of medical practice;

1. Assures prompt availability by telephone and in-person. Respond by telephone no more than twenty (20) minutes of a request for patient consultation or treatment by other members of Hospital’s staff (Requesting Party”) and arrive on-site no more than thirty (30) minutes, if deemed necessary by the Requesting Party.

1. Provides obstetric and/or gynecological consultation as requested by members of the medical or surgical staff;

1. Provides emergency patient care in the Emergency Department, Obstetrical Unit and Hospital;

1. Adhere to any procedures set forth in Hospital’s Policies pertaining to on-call services.

1. Provide professional services to patients requiring Physician’s professional expertise during the On-Call Shift, and otherwise arranging for continuity of medically necessary services, all without regard to the patient’s ability to pay for such services.

1. Maintains a complete, accurate and timely patient record consistent with Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Responsible for appropriate coding and documentation to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements;

1. Maintains medical records using the accepted current format, electronically with available systems or written legibly if electronic system not available. Completes medical records within the time frames specified by Medical Staff Bylaws and Adirondack Health requirements.

Rate of Pay:

$1,600 per 24-hour OB call coverage - Prorated for partial shifts.
